Led Zeppelin News reports that, according to a number of hints and comments from Plant, Robert Plant is recording an album with his band Saving Grace.
The latest hint that a Saving Grace album is on the way comes after the band’s drummer, Oli Jefferson, was mentioned by a sponsor that he plays live and also records with the band.
Los Cabos Drumsticks announced it is sponsoring Jefferson in an Instagram post published on May 28.
“Oli has developed a sound that is recognizable and has led him to take his place as the live/recording drummer on Robert Plant’s latest project Saving Grace ft. Suzi Dian. While this is Oli’s primary focus, he remains busy playing independently and recording with Suzi Dian and Liquid Cheeks, and is currently the live drummer for Blue Nation and a number of other artists,” the post reads in part.
The key part of the post is “Live/Recording Drummer”. So far, Saving Grace are not known to have recorded any music but have been playing live shows together since the band formed in 2019.
Most recently, Saving Grace toured the UK together in April and early May before Plant flew to the US to prepare for his world tour with Alison Krauss, which begins June 1st.
During that tour in April, Plant reportedly mentioned onstage that he was recording an album with Saving Grace, although LedZepNews was unable to confirm his onstage comments.
“When I saw Saving Grace in York on Easter Saturday, Robert casually mentioned that he was at Steve Winwood’s studio with the band. It’s in the Cotswolds so not too far from his own home in the Midlands,” John wrote in the comments section of this article.
So did this drumstick brand accidentally find out that Plant recorded an album with Saving Grace? It’s certainly possible based on what we already know about the band’s future.
